Awesome build and alot of fun for a newbie!!

I've never done an 80% before or built a gun from a kit. I've always wanted to do one, but not a Glock guy (personal preference, not a hater) and love 1911's but also wanted a newer double stack design that was a bit cheaper. The SIG P320 M17 Manual safety seems made for us 1911 guys in the 21st Century. It has a great feel and very natural with the manual safety, just like a 1911. Has an excellent trigger, too!!! Even my gunsmith said he'd compare it to a custom 1911. This gun was pretty easy to complete with the jig, too.

This build is pretty straight forward, I followed a vid called Tactical Tool Box or something like that. My only problem was that I switched pins on accident. Nail head looking pin goes in the Sear Housing, straight pin with groove on it is the trigger stop, on vids this is hard to see, but there ya go, lol. Once I figured this out, worked like a champ!!! That's the fun in learning, and now I can break this thing apart with my eyes closed, lol. All in all, the drilling and assembly probably took about 4 hours, could be done faster now that I've done one, like I said, total newb here.

Alex at AB Prototype is a great guy and a lot of help. He took his time explaining things on the phone, replied promptly to emails, etc. He's a down to earth kinda guy and not one of the tacticool guys that act like you're an idiot for being new, or learning. The gun industry could use more folks like him. So buy with confidence and you won't be left in the cold if you have a hiccup in your build.

I would HIGHLY recommend this kit from this company. Especially if your just starting, everyone I've told is impressed I took on the P320, don't let them scare you, it's easier than it looks.

Oh, and it shoots just as well as my store bought M17 from Sig. No generic parts in this kit or anything like that, all the exact same in function and quality.
